Paul PG LaFlamme Jr.


Paul LaFlamme, better known as PG, has been involved with the drum corps for most of his life. Participating as a member from 1986-1994, Paul learned drum corps operations from the ground up. A member of the Board of Directors from 2000 to present, he became President of the Spartans in 2009.

In private industry, Paul has owned and operated several for-profit businesses including Real Estate, Title Insurance, and Property Management. Paul also served for two terms in the NH House of Representatives from 2000-2004. He lives in Nashua with his wife, Kathryn and two children Julia and Andrew.

Ann Prendergast

Operations Director

Ann has been a volunteer with the Spartans organization for over 20 years. An energetic mother of four and proud grandmother of five, Ann now has over 35 years of volunteer experience with several youth organizations including those dedicated to music, sports, civic, and community activities.

Ann is a college graduate with prior executive administrative assistance experience and as such brings strong planning and organizational skills to her volunteer activities. As part of the Spartans’ administrative staff, Ann contributes to the daily operations of the Corps’ internal management.

Anthony Montesion

Assistant Operations Director

Anthony marched in the Spartans from 2002-2006 and was on the visual staff 2007, and 2010-2018. He has been the Assistant Operations Director since 2019.

His other marching and teaching experience was in the Fitchburg High School Marching Band 2003-2012; Shepherd Hill Regional High School 2013-present (Includes 4 USBANDS National Championships and 3 NESBA Championships) and Mansfield High School 2018-present

Anthony graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Fitchburg State University then attained his Masters of Education from UMASS-Lowell. Anthony currently works as the Dean of Students, Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter School.

Paul G. LaFlamme, Sr.

Transportation Director

Paul grew up in Nashua, NH and is the son of the founder of the organization. He is a graduate of Nashua High School.

After receiving an honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1972, he went to work for the Tulley Buick Dealership in Nashua, where he still works as a member of their management team. Paul attended Daniel Webster College and NH Vocational Technical College and is a graduate of General Motors University of Automotive Management. He is a former member of the Spartans and has spent most of his life working with and traveling with the Corps as a member, a parent, a bus driver, and as a board member.

Andy Smolko

Communications Director

Andy is the CEO of CertaPro Painters of Nashua, NH and Westford, MA. He grew up in NJ where he marched in two local Drum and Bugle Corps from 1969-1976.

After his marching career was over, he was color guard and visual instructor for several high school bands, an all-girl Drum and Bugle Corps and many winter color guards – medaling in several championships. Over the years he has continued to follow Drum Corp closely and has a particular interest in the Open Class because he believes that it is a very important part of the activity. Andy joined the Spartan’s Board of Directors in 2015 and became the Communications Director in 2019. Andy has a BS Degree from the University of South Carolina in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration.

Tom Houle

Food Service Manager

Tom Graduated from Framingham State University with a BS in Food & Nutrition. Since then he has worked in the school nutrition fields in several different capacities.

From Catering manager at Merrimack College to Director of Food & Nutrition at Nashoba Regional School District (with a 2-year sales stint at New England Ice Cream tucked in between) Tom has over 25 years of School Nutrition experience. Tom’s passion for what he does, serving the students of the Nashoba District, the most appealing, nutritious and delicious meal options possible is what keeps him so active motivated. Tom and his team are always looking for the most innovative ways to prepare and serve the food for their customers in their district.

Tom is also the President of the School Nutrition Association of Massachusetts and has been an SNA member for 20+ years serving on the executive board and many committees throughout the years. He served 10 years as the chairman and health inspector for his local board of health and three years a selectman. He also owned and operated his own restaurant and catering business prior to becoming a Schools Nutrition Director, from which he brought a great deal of practical experience to the school side of food operations.

Molly is an alumna of Spartans (’14-’17, ’19) and attends Simmons University for Communications with a concentration in Graphic Design.
