Albert LaFlamme founded the Spartans in 1955. He was a teacher, mentor, and friend to thousands of young musicians. To honor his legacy, we recognize someone each year that has affected the Spartans in a lasting, positive way.

Every year we recognize those members of the Spartans Family who have gone above and beyond with their time and service to the corps and have affected our organization in a lasting and positive way.  Please only nominate those individuals that have had a generational impact on the Spartans.

Albert’s Story

On February 27, 2015 Spartan founder and long-time music educator Albert LaFlamme passed away. He was a teacher, mentor, and friend to many who passed through the Spartans.

We estimate that over 2,000 young adults have passed through the ranks of the Spartans over our 60-year history.

In order for the Spartans to honor his legacy, we are forming a Hall of Fame in his name. Members of the Hall of Fame will be individuals that have affected the Spartans in a positive and long term way.

Members of the Hall of Fame will be displayed on a special plaque to be kept in the corps offices.
